Terms of Service

Bridge to Bangladesh (the “Platform”) is a community platform facilitated by Oxfam in Bangladesh that connects the global Bangladeshi diaspora with local organisations through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and collaboration.

By accessing or using the Platform — whether as a visitor, registered member, or partner organisation — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete, and that you will keep it updated.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that contain false information or that are used in breach of these terms.

Bridge to Bangladesh exists to foster respectful, constructive collaboration. When participating in circles, the community feed, events, mentorship, or any other feature, you agree to:

• Treat all members with respect and refrain from harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
• Share accurate information and avoid spam, scams, or misleading content.
• Respect the privacy of other members and not share their information without consent.
• Use the Platform only for lawful, community-oriented purposes.

You retain ownership of the stories, posts, comments, images, and other materials you submit (“User Content”). By posting, you grant Bridge to Bangladesh and Oxfam Bangladesh a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share that content within the Platform for the purpose of operating and promoting the community.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that violates these terms or that we reasonably consider harmful to the community.

The Platform’s design, logos, software, and original content are the property of Bridge to Bangladesh and its facilitators, protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform without prior written permission, except for content you are expressly permitted to share.

The Platform may award Impact Points and recognition tiers to reflect community participation. These points have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. We may adjust the scoring rules, tiers, or recognition mechanics at any time to keep the system fair and meaningful.

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform you consent to such processing. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

The Platform features partner organisations and may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Engaging with a partner or external site is at your own discretion and subject to their terms.

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. While we strive to keep information accurate and the service available, we do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any opportunity, mentorship, or collaboration will produce a particular outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bridge to Bangladesh, Oxfam Bangladesh, and their partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if you breach these terms or engage in conduct that harms the community. You may close your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including content licences, intellectual property, and liability limitations — will continue to apply.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify members through the Platform. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
